ARTIST STATEMENT

​I am a representational painter who is interested in the atmospheric qualities of paint.  When an edge is lost or found simply through a shift in color, and the colors and layers seem to push and pull against each other, I feel that I have a successful painting.  A personal language of marks comes through, as I am painting and having a conversation with the canvas.
