Texture of Chaos
I’m interested in relationships, and my latest paintings focus on relationships in their simplest form. The imagery may initially look like a collection of unrelated images but they become cohesive when you focus on a common path of color or similarity in texture. Focusing on the small elements in a large scale allow you to make sense of the chaos and appreciate the beauty.
These pieces are created from small torn paper collages that I use as a sketch for the final, much larger, painting. The compilation of these scraps of textures, colors, and patterns breathe a new life when the are interpreted in a painted form.
